Difficulties on live contracts required careful handling both legally and technically. Led to formal study of the relevant law to improve effectiveness in applying practical technical experience to complex construction problems. Numerous Expert appointments on disputes from £10k to £1 billion.

Intense workload in London over past 8 years focusing upon project management and construction planning. Extensive experience in the resolution of complex disputes in construction projects. Considerable expertise in forensic investigation, analysis and demonstration of delay, disruption and acceleration issues. Clear ability to provide high-level assessment informed by rigorous engineering training. Instructed on numerous occasions as an Independent Expert on varied programming matters by leading UK solicitors.

Contract consultancy (1996 to present). Experience has been gained on a variety of building, civil engineering and M&E engineering projects working in the UK and overseas. Prepared numerous expert witness reports on both quantum and delay issues. Testified giving Expert evidence in Technology and Construction Court. Considerable experience in adjudication proceedings and has provided comprehensive oral and written testimony on numerous occasions. Also provided tactical mediation support to solicitors and clients alike in a number of disputes.

His quantity surveying experience and time analysis experience has developed across construction, engineering, Industrial and infrastructure projects across UK, Europe and Middle East. This has been complemented by experience within the public and private sectors and work as lead expert in matters for and against insurance groups on professional negligence and property damage matters.

Has operated many forms of contract including both the D&B and operational phases of PFI/PPP. Skills in strategic planning and business development honed through participation in bid management and organisational change. Logical thinker quickly cutting through minutiae to material issues. Initial experience was gained in private practice undertaking traditional consultant quantity surveying work. Crispin later worked for contractors, mainly in London on a number of residential schemes, and has particular experience of insolvency proceedings and has been appointed as Expert in connection with main contractor insolvency. Crispin has been involved with construction disputes since 1999, and has been appointed as Expert on a number of occasions, including appointment as a court appointed Single Joint Expert on matters of Quantum. In addition, Crispin has experience of Adjudications, both Referring and Defending, and has advised on the provision and wording of Performance Bonds, PCG',s Collateral Warranties, and the practicalities of amendments to standard forms of contract.
